Nice work! I like the shark in particular. With a bit of practise you will have the Landy to perfection as well:D
Don't be put off by any of the sarcasm of some of us lot here either;)
I'll see if I can dig up some of my efforts when I was around your age. I never threw anything out so they will be down at my oldies house:twisted:

Nice Leon, keep drawing and practising. My daughter is also very good at drawing. What helped her a lot was drawing from photos so that she could get the details in. Its a lot of fun tho :)

Hi Leon,

You're doing a great job with those drawings!

You've clearly got a good eye for detail, and you're doing well with proportions as well. You said that you're happy to accept constructive criticism - well, this is not really a criticism as such, but a suggestion that I have for you.

When I draw by hand I struggle with getting curves right - and I'm a draughtsman, so I draw for a living (albeit on a computer these days) - and my freehand circles are not as good as yours, so I found this helps:

Try to get hold of a drawing tool called a "French Curve". (Some of us will remember using one of these at school) It is a weird looking plastic template that has a heap of different curve shapes around the outside and the inside of it that you can trace around for things like wheel arches, corners of bullbars, etc. Anywhere a curve is needed, really. Once you get used to using it, I'm sure you could even use it to help you draw an octopus if you wanted to.

Anyway, I know it used to help me a bit when I did drawings by hand.

Thanks for sharing - keep it up! :D

Oh dear.

Leon, you have a sickness:o.

I, too, started EXACTLY as you have. Drawing Landies, AND sharks, (which I was and still am nuts about:twisted:), and look what it has led to, a life of landrover worship and obsession!!!!

I now eat, sleep, work and breathe the green oval. at age 42:o

Good stuff mate, I wish you a happy 'landy diseased' life too, much like mine was at your age, and still is now:D:D:D:D

(PS, there IS NO KNOWN CURE:eek::))

(And, what Jonno G said about the french curves is great, I used one all the time during tech drawing and graphic design school, very helpful tool)

Great work Leon, no need for critisism, you draw because you enjoy it. Even if you were the only person to enjoy it is no reason to stop. I enjoyed to draw when I was young, (about 100 years ago now) my specialities were Series Land Rovers and EK Holdens. I'll see if I can still draw, then learn how to post it for you.:o Keep it up mate and show us more.

During my teens, (early 70's) I loved to draw in the "hot rod" art style - similar to this....STP stickers etc around the bedroom, along with Farrah Fawcett...:)

http://www.purplemoon.com/Stickers/hot-rod-sm.jpg (http://www.purplemoon.com/Stickers/hot-rod-sm.jpg)

I drifted away from that in later years, and stopped drawing totally. Getting back into it now.

Here an example of what I said in my earlier post. My then 14yo daughter drew this referencing a photo... so it wasnt traced, just drew her interpretation. this way she has learned the art of detail, something that is hard when drawing just from memory.

I think your drawings are great landy leon ;) especially the shark. You definately have some artistic talent so if you enjoy drawing keep at it.

My art teacher wanted me to go to art college etc and thought that I'd make a career of it, but I declined :( and got a job instead.

Thirty seven years on I often wonder what might have been if I'd listened....

When we were kids,i was 1 of 4 boys,we drew pictures of Landys everywhere as it was the only car we had till i was about 12:o

Problem was we drew the pictures on the house walls,in the dirt on the side of the car ,etc & drove my parents crazy.

Drawing on paper didnt seem to be the go

I can still remember my father "and who drew this on here".....:(

No one,Dad was always the answer

And if i catch one of you doing it,watch out:(

I did this picture way back in 1974, at the time it was my pride and joy and took quite a while to complete. I wrote to Barry White to see if he'd be interested in using it as a "greatest hits" cover on the album. ( well I was young and naive :D )

I did get a very nice letter back from him in person, but the album cover never materialised as Barry White was too busy and our stupid dog at the time decided to chew the picture
