Well, let's see if this works. I thought there was a practice area here but I started going cross-eyed looking for it. So here should be a photo of the Great Northern Highway one wet season.

That's not a river! This is a river! :D

That's the Fitzroy River in a decent flood. There it would be about 10 metres deep. The funny thing is that sometimes it can go up and down by quite a few metres in only a day or so, and at other times it will rise up and stay there for ages. Then it all goes away for the next 9 months or so and usually there's enough water left for a small creek-sized flow with some large pools at various spots.

I'm glad I can finally post pictures - I've tried a few times. Yay for broadband!
