Mitchell Bros Off Air

I was wondering if anyone has (or knows someone who has) one of these fitted and how well it works? The other two questions would be - does it affect warranty?
and what are the pros an cons compared with buying a separate compressor?

When I had my hitch done, they tried to sell me the air-off. Two reasons I didn't for it were that it's another point of failure in the air system and i already have a decent compressor. i reckon you'd feel a bit miffed if you trashed your air suspension pumping up tyres.

I had the air up system fitted prior to doing a recent Simpson Desert crossing. We had pretty hot weather and the sand was really soft in the afternoons, so having the system allowed run ups to the dunes when needed without the LR off road height blinging its head off and dropping to normal height as it did on another D3 in our convoy withour the air up. We were travelling in a 12 vehicle convoy so we were travelling fairly slowly but if there was only a few vehicles and you wanted to travel quicker between the dunes I reckon the compressor would get a work out constantly going from normal to off road height without the air actuator.

Ah, I think there is a slight difference here....

The Air off is utilising the current vehicle air compressor as an air source whilst the "air UP' you refer to is the extension of that system for off road height above 40kph without "bongs" and stay up above 50kph.

As to the air "off" the volume is the difference, it can make tyre changing unnecessary if you can plug a leak by finding a pluggable leak before removal of the wheel. I know it would have saved me 2 flat bed tows (thanks LR Assist) if I could have plugged a 2nd flat instead of possibly stuffing a sidewall (I still haven't had a chance to do the examinations).
