i put my car in for its 130k service today and was asked if it had had its major service done i said i have only had it for 8000k so do it after replacing an air bag as it had a hole the diff centre as it was very worn drained every drop of fluid etc im back on the road 2k poorer :eek: i also had the aircon drains moved brakes flushed im happy i didnt have any major break downs like the diff ****ing itself as it was that badly worn when i was on the beach :( so with the report that everything else is fine [ still need the auto serviced ] im right for another 100k
i certainly wasnt expecting these probs but am happy they are recitfied now
its too late to do anything else e my diff centre but if it happens again should i be looking at an arb locker are they stronger what causes the diffs to wear in the 1st place and im alittle surprised about the air bag as it ahs been sitting fine in my driveway and i havnt noticed anything while driving as far as sagging goes enough of my venting im going fishing in a fortnight so im going to relax

look on the bright side.....it could be much worse
a) that drunk driver pulls out in front of you and you smack right into the side of him. The air bag goes off and you realise in 20 miliseconds that theres a hole in it and you end up kissing the windscreen. Other than the obvious sore head, you have a written off car and the name of some looser forever etched in your brain
b) dodgy diff gives up the ghost on Fraser Isl and you have to be towed home by a Landcruiser or Patrol
c) keep that ARB air locker excuse stored away for SWMBO, its a beauty
d) you lucky b******d, fishing in God's own country and you own a D2....I hate you ;)
cheers :p
