Its probably a Defendoor. DEFENDOOR fuel filler recess cover for Land Rover Defender (http://www.defendoor.co.uk/Defender-fuel-filler-recess-cover.php)

Derek organised a bulk buy with aulro logo on them a few months ago

That would be it. Just order one from Mark (Defendoor.co.uk) they work a treat.

All the extra ones ordered were sold.

Time for another AULRO production run then?

Once I get back from holidays and settle back into the routine of work again I'll think about it. Nothing definite though.

To be honest, the above is why I didn't buy one last time around... I could see one lasting all of 15 minutes in the bush with branches rubbing on the sides?? am I wrong? how many have lost em since ordering?

I used to lose my fuel caps until i put a chain on it, mabe you could put a chain/string on your defendoor as well.

My 3 inch wheelarch extensions make a good spot to rest my defendoor when i fill up, havent lost it yet.

Actually found it again the following day going along the same farm track. Very vulnerable to being knocked off by sticks that are flipped up by a wheel or branches dragging along the side.

I haven't had any issues with it coming loose. Sticks and bushes have definitely hit it and I even managed about 200km of dirt track with it not properly attached. As for leaving it at a servo... I had to go back for the fuel cap anyway:mad:

Ours didn't come off on our last trip up to the Territory and we drove through a lot of scrub. I always put the fuel cap & Defendoor on the drivers seat when filling fuel so if I forget to put it back on I'll end up sitting on it.....

Lou, if the servo has your cover, why don't you send them a reply paid envelope and ask them to post it to you?:)

I scratched my Puma pretty badly in scrub last time off road - the cover is still there - complete with scratches. It won't fall off - get one. ;)
