Just wondering if there is any reason why you shouldn't use coper pipe to replace the standard metal water pipe that runs from the oil cooler to the EGR cooler if it was properly bracketed off on a TD5 2001 defender.

aside from some electrolysis issues where you bolt it up, none, the oil cooler is copper so as far as the cooling system is concerned its already dealing copper.

Copper doesnt like vibration, it will eventually fracture:(

If you can manage to bracket it well it may be OK.

You need to tie it down firmly with only short runs between brackets. Vibration causes copper to work harden and crack. Thisis why you are not supposed to use it for brake pipes.
