Hello Folks,
There is a Series 2A I've found on Ebay - I'm pretty keen. Is there anyone who might be able to have a look at it for me prior to next Wednesday?
LAND ROVER SERIES 2A IIA 1968 FULL RESTORATION (eBay item 180409856501 end time Sep-30-09 20:21:54 EST) (http://cars.ebay.com.au/LAND-ROVER-SERIES-2A-IIA-1968-FULL-RESTORATION_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ180409856501)
Any comments on the vehicle?

If they mean the Goulburn Vally, that is in VIC and i might be able to have a look.
It's near Seymour, I think. I will contact the seller tonight and have a chat - it might come to nothing, but if I am keen to go ahead, I'll PM you to see if you're available to check it out for me. :)

Good luck Scallops - she looks like a beaut. Not to much work left by the looks of it. (I have this on my watch list!)

Well - if you are serious about buying it - I won't get in the way. I really don't like the idea of buying a vehicle unseen in an auction. But if I am ever to have a Series as a daily drive, it would need to be one like that.

No I am not going to bid, just dreamin'. (Couldn't afford it - or the divorce!)
I often put a watch on Series landies just to see what they go for. To be honest this in the higher end of what I would pay. But it does look nice.
I bought Scruby sight unseen on ebay - was a very nervous flight up to Coffs Harbour. But I figured all I stood to lose was the deposit and a flight to coffs.
Would love to drive up and have a look at it for you but a bit busy for the next week or so - although sounds like you've got someone closer.

G'day All, Just my tuppence worth, from the pictures and the description of said vehicle, it would be well worth the money, (no connection to seller at all) if I were to purchase it, the only items I would remove are the shackle plates, they are off a ex-mil L/r all they are going to do to this vehicle is wear out the uni-joints quickly, and possibly upset the steering geometry.
It has uprated braking systems not sure whether it has a booster, but believe me it ought to stop well with 3" LWB shoes front and LWB 2 1/4" shoes rear, but the ultimate decision is yours cheers Dennis:angel:

I'm heading thru Seymour on Tuesday, I have to call in there anyway.
PM me if you want to.
My series days are over.. coil springs for me... but having owned 3 series Landies over 12 years I have a reasonable idea.
Regards,
David
