Hi I'm new to all this and am posting for the first time. I have a 97 disco TDI, manual with 240k on the clock. what I would like to know is can I fit an intercooler to this model, what difference to performance and how much and from whom if available.

It already has an intercooler - you can get larger ones.

Do a few searches of already existing threads, I'm sure you will find more than what you are looking for. There is a ridiculous amount of information stored up on here from over the years.
