Hi people,
Am planning to do a stage 2 at home
Look for some info on changing out an intercooler.
How hard is the job?
How much do you have to dismantle to remove the intercooler and replace with a bigger one?
How long does it take?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Cheers

If you can get the viscous fan off it makes it a lot easier and should take about 2 to 3hrs, add an hour or two if you can't. (have bandaids nearby for skinned knuckles;))
The other thing is the bigger intercooler will do diddlely squat unless you do a chip upgrade and turbo modded to suit at the same time.

its under control, I have Silicone hoses, EGR on the way as well as flashable ECU and new stainless steel exhaust.
Going from Stage 0 to stage 2 in a weekend I hope.
Do I need any special tools to remove the Fan?
Cheers for the info

It definitely helps. The Ford spanners fit if you can find them and are happy to pay the price.
I bought mine of another guy who already had them.

I made a cheap viscous fan removal spanner. I measured the size of the bolt with a vernier, then used a scrap piece of 100x5 flat bar and cut a groove out of one end to the size of the bolt measured with the vernier. Works really well, just fit it to the bolt and give the sides of the flat bar a little tap with a hammer, and off it comes. And the best part is, it cost me nothing to do :D
