Folks,

My 2005 Disco 3 has developed a brake problem. Took it to Austral Landrover today to be looked at and received a phone call this arvo advising that the problem has now been fixed but they had contacted Landrover and have asked them to cover the cost! So - as it turns out, the car is suffering a manufacturing fault. I have the ACCC Product Safety Recall downloaded from the net. BUT - it only covers cars from November 2005 to April 2007. My car was made in October 2005. Do you think it will be covered by Landrover or not? It is the same fault.

The EU3 spec D3s (which you have) are not affected by the same recall as the EU4 spec cars but some have suffered a similar problem.
It's a case by case basis at this stage but LR should look after you if it's the 'oil in booster' issue.

Hey Scott,

Yes, I believe it was the oil in the booster problem. Landrover fixed the car without my permission. They were meant to ring with a quote, but instead they rang after they had fixed it, so from that I am assuming all should be ok.

I am told LR Australia have some parts in for the Euro III engines but are not issuing a recall until they have enough parts for all the vehicles.
