Hello Folks,

I just wanted to make a public thank you to a forum member, DeeJay, for taking the time and making the effort to help me out by checking a Series 2A that was for sale in Seymour, Victoria.

The vehicle was on ebay, and I was pretty close to doing everything possible to buy it. Some of you might remember my original thread asking for assistance, and apart from needing a map (thanks IanV8! :p) I would have required divine intervention to see beyond my Land Rover Rose coloured glasses - not to mention my lack of mechanical knowledge - so I really appreciated DeeJay's offer to help.

As it turned out, the vehicle was not as it appeared. So I declined to offer a bid, and as a result, I feel DeeJay saved me from a major disappointment. For ethical reasons, I have waited until the ebay auction had closed to post this, but I am now free to acknowledge DeeJay's help.

Now, let me say this - the Land Rover community, of which AULRO is an integral part, is something I feel privileged to be a part of. It's precisely this kind of willingness to help fellow enthusiasts, from across the country, indeed - from around the world, that make this group so extraordinary. So let me also thank all my fellow AULROvians, because the strength of this place is larger than the sum of the parts. :clap2:

couldn't agree more Scallops :D:D

this place is truely amazing most of the time, the things that we as a group/forum can do is also amazing.................

over the years i've picked up things for other members
look at pre purchase items for other members
helped out other members that have been stuck in one way or another

taken on a challengers from other states
meet numerous members from all over the country
and countless other things of late

yep this place/family is great ..............

I feel DeeJay saved me from a major disappointment

Any non-purchase of ANY Land Rover will do that, whether it's 40 years or 40 mins old:D:D:D

Seriously though, agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments Scallops, re the forum and LR community, 'tis a great thing to be a part of, and a great 'place' frequented by 'great' people, (with the odd tool squeezer
sneaking in);)

Now we'll just have to see if DeeJay purchased a Series IIA in the last week:D.

You people are an invaluable source of information, and help. Keep up the good work.

Ha Ha,
Another Landie = DIVORCE - besides the garage is full... although we did show our neighbour it last week & SWMBO asked when one of the landies was going to go & I said, y'know I reckon I could squeeze another one in here.. :rocket: -- I live dangerously.:)
