Ivery819 is selling his 45,000km TDV6 Java black RRS for what he's been offered as a trade (did you see it at the Expo?).
I want it.
My wife says I can have it.
Please say "No!"
I've never owned a reliable car in 45 years of driving and I don't need another unreliable one (it's reliable for Peter but knowing my luck....... :().

Does your P38 have seven seats?
Maybe the curse will be broken if you don't sign the papers.

Ron wlll always find a problem, any problem. He is an obsessive pedantic. (if there is a syndrome)
He'll have to fix the typo above, if he doesn't it will eat his soul away.
Should Ron buy an RRS? Yes.

After talking it over with my wife, I've decided against it, as much as I'd love one. She isn't against me having it. I am.
I'm looking to retire in the next 6 months so spending $57k on a car - especially a Rangie - is not a good idea.
I wouldn't be able to afford the servicing costs, let alone the repairs and depreciation. I can't write it off as a business expense.

$57k is under the Luxury Car Tax so the business expense is not much of an issue other than servicing costs and loan repayments (if you go that path).
Buy the RRS... sell the house and buy a cheaper one down here near Canberra so you can help me keep my P38A running ;)
I may be in the market for an RRS after Christmas as well... it will be 12 months since I bought this P38A and it's CHP loan (business/tax deduction) will be paid out so I may be looking for a newer addition to the "fleet". That should give you enough time to become as proficient on the RRS as you are on the P38A :D
... but if you have decided to not go down the RRS path, that is a loss to the RRS owners on this site.
Best wishes, Paul.

The usual response to that would be that they (retirement and a Rangie) are interdependent rather than mutually exclusive.
However I understand where you are coming from. Given those circumstances would probably be my decision too.

I agree with you in that case with $57000 you can have your RR very well set up and do the "Mother of all Trips" ;)
I am retired and think that my $ 15000 Defe is as good as a new vehicle to tour in Oz at my pleassure.

I work for the gummint so I can't claim any business expenses.
Move to Canberra? Hmm, not a bad idea.

As we all know, the Range Rover in any guise depreciates at a phenominal rate.
My view would be that at 57K it still has a long way to go.
If you want to upgrade, I'd be looking in the mid forties - there are some very decent L322 specimens in that range.

I like Canberra in many ways. I could live there except it gets a tad cool in winter.
