Kraft has asked all us Vegemite fans to pick a new name to replace the now defunct iSnack2.0.
Have your vote :)

For someone who takes more than a passing interest in advertising and marketing I must applaud Kraft. They've even got Land rover nuts talking about their product!

The new stuff tastes awful comp[ared to the genuine article, so why bother about a name? It will soon be gone.

Talk about it yes, but I won't be going out and buying any now. I was planning on getting a jar when I got my Vegemite club email. Now, after all this hoo haa, and crap name I won't bother. Lots of talk is good, but not if it alienates the buyers, or worse kills off the loyalty of the Vegemite faithful.

I agree. It's rubbish. I don't care what name they give it, it just tastes like watered down vegemite to me. There won't be any in my pantry.

Too close to Cheesymite, which is owned by Bakers Delight. (They have "Cheesymite Scrolls" which are cheese and vegemite in a twisted bun... ohhhh it's gooooooooooooooooood. :D)

I like the stuff - enough to occasionally snitch some straight out of the jar! :D:p:p
I like the name iSnack 2.0. I wonder - could this be added to our survey alongside the others to see how many of us still like this name. It may give a surprising result.

I think Vege****e would be a fitting name. I reckon scrap the whole thing in Australia, it was made for weak americans who arent tough enough to handle the real thing :D Take it off the shelves and sell the crap in america, we dont want it here.

"Not Kosher" would be a good name, or "Marmite," the kosher spread--however another Australian Brand already has the name "Marmite," and I recon Marmite tastes better, though it is now manufactured in NZ.

Been renamed as Cheesybite ;) But only just :Rolling:
Vegemite’s Cheesybite neck-and-neck with none of the above
About the same number of people who took part in the public vote on the new name for Vegemite’s disastrously launched iSnack 2.0 did not like any of the names on offer as voted for the winning Cheesybite, Mumbrella can reveal.
When Kraft announced the winner earlier today (http://mumbrella.com.au/vegemite-2-0-now-its-cheesybite-10153), it said that 30,357 people had voted for a name, with 36% choosing Cheesybite. This would amount to about 10,900 people.
But in the online vote, as well as six names, a seventh option had been to say that none of the choices appealed. But this option was not included in today’s announcement.
However, after questions from Mumbrella, the company has said that a total of around 40,000 people took part in the weekend’s online vote, with approximately 25% not choosing any of the six names on offer. This would also amount to roughly 10,000 people.
Although he declined to share the exact numbers, Kraft’s corporate affairs head Simon Talbot insisted that Cheesybite had still come out just ahead of those who did not like any of the names.
He said: “It came out in front, just. Otherwise I’d have thought that we would have had to go back again.”

Ahem, Marmite is a product from Sanitarium and the company actually started in Pah Road, Auckland. It's still there.
