After 3 1/2 weeks, 8549km, a gazzillion photos and a heap of fun.. I am back home and sadly back to work tomorrow.
Except for the fuel pressure reg letting go (Big thank you to Sutton's in Alice Springs who where fantastic).... the D2 performed faultlessly and we had a ball.
The young fella detailed most of the trip Here (http://tripblog.bugs-n-bytes.com/)
But I'll try and get a decent trip report together over the next few days. ;)
Looks like I have about 4 weeks of posts to catchup on reading too..:eek:
Yeh Yeh I know the rules ... without pics it didn't happen right..
Here is a teaser:

Yeah I put a few hours into starting the big clean of the Discovery.... I wasn't too sure if I should start with the Armorall or a shovel :eek:

Sounds like you had a great trip - thanks for the pics - the one of Ayres Rock is sensational.
BTW, After such a run, how did the springs go as compared to your previous airbags?

G'day Erich,
The rear springs with a trailer on were perfect....with the trailer off - a bit too stiff - but the vast majority of the trip was with the trailer, so very happy I swapped them out.
In the next few weeks I'll put my airbags back in for day to day stuff and pop the springs in the shed for the next big trip..
The planning starts as soon as I get the car clean.

Fortunately for us Darwin Mitsubishi washed the car (on the outside) when they serviced it. I did ask them why they bothered as I'd be doing the track in two days time. Think I was the first person who could see the point in picking up a clean car. So the outside has 630km of track dirt on it and the inside has 3 months of travel as well:(
Let's just say, "it no longer has that new car smell"
M&M seat covers will need a wash again too but they have held up exceptionally well.
