Thinking about getting ARB airlockers soon, and wondering where people have mounted the air compressor.

I'll probably get MR Automotive to do it, and no doubt they know where to mount it, but in case they ask me where to put it, I'd like to have some idea rather than shrug my shoulders.

Most people tend to mount them under the bonet. Me I'm relocating the electrics from under the seat in the 2001 TD5 to under the cubby box and then I'm going to locate the compressor under the seat.

At the moment mine is under the bonnet but it will be moved soon to under the drivers seat most likely. A vent mite be needed in the front or side of the seat box as not much air can get in other wise.

i have mine under the bonnet behind the air box, it is a bit higher than in the cab so, less chance of ingesting water if things go rilly bad. witch acording to you tube happens when you dont think it will happen. second, if you have a misses or kids, they wont like it in the cab, alot of the use is for inflating tyres, and as any one knows who has one you can hear it over the sound of the engine, aspecialy if you have the larger volume pump, wich you would want if you have friends who dont have all the gear , because as murphy dictates will all want to use your service station and you will probably give in because you would rather burn out your pump than wate 40-50 min for them to use there 250 psi 1 leter per hour pump that cost 15 dollers. it dose get hot, dam hot, even the air coming from the filling hose gets hot after 4 tyres, and third you get the option to put a 1/4 inch npt thread into the intake of the pump insted of the flimsy filter so an air line can be run from your filter box to get clean air, mostly for the reasion that it is hooked up to a snorkle , so if you are drounding in water you can still fill your mates tyres so he can get a hamburger on the way to calling a tow truck. btw, i have herd of ppl mounting them in the cab in the back boot in the cubby against the wall, ( disco series 1)

My ARB compressor fits neatly in the gap between the left-rear door and the pedestal for the rear seats. But mine can be used for tyres etc, so if it was just for the lockers I'd have put it under the front seat too.

Ditto exactly, mine does the locker and tires.
and the same spot on the drivers side has my fire extinguisher.
