rarity of 80 to 86 inch

hi all you learned gentlemen ive done many a search on whether landrover made more 80 or 86 inch vehicles , reason being that i or you hear more about the 80 inch wheelbase vehicles compared to the 86. I have a 80 inch that i am restoring

I dont have any idea of exact numbers, but the 86-107's were not made for all that long........

But good question and looking forward to what others have to say.

To paraphrase, an 86 inch Series 1 - "quite rare specimens" :) So perhaps less of these than the original 80's

What about if you include the SI 88" with the 86", and the SI 109" with the 107"?

Adding these figures, gives a total of 78,576 80" and 75,286 86+88". In other words, roughly the same number of 80" as 86+88", even closer if we lump in 107 and 109 - which are the truly rare models, especially the 107 wagon.

The 86"' landrover:


In my opinion the 86"is a great all round vehicle, plently of room - powerfull and still very capable off offroad

(my wifes 86 is used daily around the farm and a great little vehicle).

I used to own a 80"- but being a big bloke they are a little cramped for room and costly to rebuild.

So for those with 86"s hang on to them............
