Reminds me of that joke.
Why don't blind people sky dive?
Because it scares the **** out of the dog.

Bloody hell!!!! Poor puppy... i want to see the footage when the Alsatian is released onto the ground ;) More like...bloody hell Josh...you should know better. That is a German Shepherd Dog.....not a frickin Alsatian. Without going into the whole historical aspect of it......here's a shortened condensed version:

The breed was named Deutscher Schäferhund by Von Stephanitz, literally translating to "German Shepherd Dog". The breed was so named due its original purpose of assisting shepherds in herding and protecting sheep. At the time, all other herding dogs in Germany were referred to by this name; they thus became known as Altdeutsche Schäferhunde or Old German Shepherd Dogs. Shepherds were first exported to Britain in 1908, and the UK Kennel Club began to recognise the breed in 1919.
The direct translation of the name was adopted for use in the official breed registry; however, at the conclusion of World War I, it was believed that the inclusion of the word "German" would harm the breed's popularity,[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Shepherd_Dog#cite_note-palika-22-11) due to the anti-German sentiment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-German_sentiment#World_War_I) of the era.[13] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Shepherd_Dog#cite_note-rice-12-12) The breed was officially renamed by the UK Kennel Club to "Alsatian Wolf Dog"[a] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Shepherd_Dog#endnote_Anone)[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Shepherd_Dog#cite_note-palika-22-11) which was also adopted by many other international kennel clubs. Eventually, the appendage "wolf dog" was dropped.[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Shepherd_Dog#cite_note-palika-22-11) The name Alsatian remained for five decades,[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Shepherd_Dog#cite_note-palika-22-11) until 1977, when successful campaigns by dog enthusiasts pressured the British kennel clubs to allow the breed to be registered again as German Shepherd Dogs.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Shepherd_Dog#cite_note-german-culture-1)

So in a nutshell.....the breed as it was and is known today aside from diehards who will try and sell a different story....and I know one of them :D....is a German Shepherd Dog. I have owned many GSD's since a child...never an Alsatian,

Regards

Stevo.

P.S. Great pics by the way.

I'm ambidextrous (probably a better word to use but cant think of one at present) and use both names so as to not offend anyone consistently :p

why would you need to do that....I wonder what the poor dog was bloody thinking when he had the feeling of weightlessness falling and not being able to stop along with the air taken out of its lungs

Seriously I think what we as humans put some animals through is just totally unnecessary....IMHO.

Hey Shonky...it doesn't look like Cleo as Cleo looks happier;)

He was probably thinking,

"Oh Ok, if you want me to Dad, I trust you and you wouldn't do anything bad to me ... I wouldn't be so loyal and faithful if I didn't know how much you love me too. c'mon then, whatcha waiting for, lets go"

the test would be to have dad jump out first and then see if the dog would follow I bet your bottom dollar it wouldn't;)
