Hi, The extra brake switch is most likely the cruise control switch which disconnects cc when you touch the brakes and the tap is what you thought - a water drain tap...............Regards....Brian

Where exactly is the switch located? I know my TD5 has a brake fluid level switch but that is in the reservoir lid.

The two switches sit right above the brake pedal in the normal brake light switch position. One is black the other is white. They sit under a cover to protect them from big feet.
