Hey everyone. Im new to the AULRO thing. Here are a few piccys of my 04 defender (the bottom two photos are with the old 2 inch lift which didnt quite work out).

Have the following accessories at the moment:

ARB bull bar
9000lb warn winch
IPF XS lights
Milford Barrier
Stratos Seats
Twin Gel Battery set up
On dash battery monitor
Kingsley Steps
Hayman Reece towbar
Front Runner rear wheel carrier
Dolium 45lt sill tank
Tough dog std height (actually plus 10mm) heavy duty springs
Tough dog shocks
ARB compressor (no diff locks yet:mad:)
Safari Snorkel
GME remote face UHF
ARB fridge and slide

And other assorted crap.

Enjoy getting out in the bush as much as I can. One of my favourite places to go is Wonangatta Station in behind Mt Buller. Am off on a round OZ trip next year and getting the truck sorted. Still have a few things to tick off such as roof rack, pull out awning, changing camper trailer stud pattern to landy etc etc.

Anyways, just thought Id introduce myself. Name is Pricey. Gus is the dog (hence the username).

Nice set up you have there Pricey. What tyres are they on the Defender?
Did you fit the seats or were they with the vehicle when you bought it?

Cheers Larry. Benny IIA was right, they are cooper St's. Good all round tyre I reckon. Cant be bothered with a spare set of rims and tyres for off roading and the coopers are a good compromise. They are the most aggressive or off road based of the all terrain type tyre in my opinion and no where near as noisy as a muddy on the highway.

Im based in Albury and bought the Stratos seats from Opposite Lock in Wodonga. The girlfriend is a lot happier now. The only problem Ive had with them is that Im fairly tall and the bases are a bit higher than standard reducing sideways vision a little. That said the benefits of not getting a crook back or sore ass far outweigh the slightly reduced vision:lol2:.

Enjoy the trip chops. Very jealous.

Oh forgot some other stuff

Also have installed

A tacho!
Cruise control (awesome on long drives)
Sony stereo and custom made 6x9 speaker boxes (some fine dodgy carpentry there)
A board thingy in the back between the wheel arches (I store plastic boxes underneath)
An ARB turbo timer
A plethora of 12volt accessory plugs (5 xtra at last count)
And an Engel battery monitor (I know, that makes two but Im paranoid because I dont have a battery isolator - can run the fridge off both batteries and have a low volt cut out - trial runs indicate I can run the fridge for up to 8 days without starting the car - And the battery(s) charges up nearly 5 times faster with no isolator)

Things I want to add to olaf (and no I didnt name the car, a friend is responsible)

Some sort of power upgrade (am considering diesel gas at the moment)
A roof rack (maybe - I tow a camper most of the time so can fit much of the excess gear here)
A second sill tank (long ranger 55L in the left hand sill)
A water tank (on the floor of the passenger area)
A HF radio (or maybe sat phone - it'll just be me a the missus next year round oz)
and assorted other stuff.

Thanks for the comments people. See you out landrovering.

What cruise control did you install? Did you do it yourself?

Any pics ?

Here's a few piccy's of my fridge slide Drover. I didnt have the fridge handy but will post some more later on if you want to see it in the vehicle.

In this photo you can see the power outlet (grey) with the engel battery monitor attached. You can also see the board thingy I have installed and carpeted between the wheel arches.

In this photo you can see the fridge slide extended and my 'fully sick' carpentry skills in the form of some dodgy but serviceable speaker boxes, which are indeed carpeted by the way.

And finally, here is a piccy of my cruise control for Lightweight. Its an auscruise system (near 1 grand installed - the exploroz system for td5's is only 80 bucks - was I ****ed when I found out!). Next to the handbrake you can see my Tekonsha inertia brake controller for the electric brakes on the camper. Also note the third dial to the left - my tacho! And the ARB turbo timer to the bottom right. Excuse the fuzziness of the photo - It was a loong day!;)

I like what you have done with the speakers and the tie down points along the sides look great. Where did you source the tie down points from as I now have holes that need filling as I have just removed the rear seats.

I have just bought a 2000 model defender and am doing the same things with the rear of the vehicle.

Welcome, and thanks for all the photos.

There are a few posts here on Diesel Gas systems if you want to do a search. Some guys have has issues but not sure if this is on a TD5 or other engines.

Cheers
David

Also - Where's a picture of Gus :D

Rockyroad - the tie down points are just the standard landrover ones from the floor that I moved up to the sides when I installed the board. If you dont have them in your vehicle I spose you could source them from a wrecker maybe?

And cheers spudboy, have looked on the forum recently in regards to the diesel gas. Interesting. The thing I like the most about the diesel gas is that it seems to stress the TD5 a lot less than chip, intercooler and exhaust upgrades. I personally dont like the idea of removing the cat for example - Im a bit of a hippy and want to keep the emmisions under control. And the plus is you dont have to use it if you cant get gas.

And thanks for the welcome warren.

Will post a pic of gus soon :BigThumb:.

Welcome to the forum mate - and a particularly good looking Defender you have there.

Check out the NEVLRC section - we have a meal and a beer, coke, lemonade - whatever - every second Wednesday of the month - it is a great night. Why not come along and meet up with us next month:)

We'll be at the Star Hotel ;) I think Seano87, Mrs Ho Har and other celebrities may also be there:)
