sp2 , vista home basic

the problem i am having is, when i start up the computer for the day it can take any thing from 30 min to 60 min before the hard drive stops doing what ever it is dong before i can use the computer properly . i have disabled disc frag , nortons . the computer was working fine until i downloaded sp2 . any clues

Haven't had the issue myself, but have a look at this info on the chkdsk continually running at startup:
