Okay this has what to do with the Hey Hey skit??? Orlando Jones actually is black (sorry: african american) and Harry Connick Jr. is pretending to be a white southern evangelist.

I thought that Blackface was a long standing legitimate theatrical milieu, like Yiddish comedy skits.

Sorry but need further clarification on the poll.
Yes i agree that Harry Connick Jr should practice what he preaches as should all people :) ... but that seems to have nothing to do with the video imo :p
In Matt's defence though, seems the media is pushing that video too proving once again that the general media are idiots :Rolling: Kinda like deliberately misquoting that MP in regards to the 4wd ban from a couple days ago without bothering to confirm the source

1. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.
2. The dirty little secret amongst many Americans is that their beloved religion is nothing more than a scam and they are being rorted big time.
3. There is little difference between high pressure sales reps, used car salesmen (sorry if there are any here but you know what I mean), and baptist ministers. It's all about the last sale. That creates a huge cringe factor for many in the US, but more and more are being drawn into it with the promise of great benefits and a set of steak knives. When there's cringe they squawk.
I thought it was humorous and satirical but not that great. Harry is OK too - good voice I guess.
As for practicing what he preaches? He's not actually a preacher you know :p

Ok, first, the media twists the facts and lies to make a great story, this was handled on the night by both parties with grace and dignity, it was settled and should not have continued the way it has. As far as the skit goes, I relise it was done without malous and not intended to be offencive, but it was still in poor taste.
It was not the fact that they were making fun of black people, what was offencive about the skit was the black face makeup, wearing blackface is like slapping a black man and screaming the N word in his face. But it does not mean the same thing here in australia because you didn't have vaudville etc.. where white actors wore blackface and made black people look like baffoons.
Now as for Harry, well, what do you expect him to do, most of his band members are black, he plays with famous black musitions, and like I said, black face makeup is the most offencive thing you can do. Yes, he was in another country, but if he just sat there and smiled what do you think would have happened to him when he returned to the states, he would have been crusified, cut the man some slack. And he was invited to go on the show don't forget, what do you think would happen if Nicole Kidman were invited to Japan to be a special guest on a tv show, and during that show they cut up and ate a whale, would she just sit there and smile, because she was in there country, or would she let them know her disgust? You know the answer, so drop the hipocracy and get over it.

Now lets get back to some 4x4'in.
