My two TrueTracs arrived from Keith at RoverTracks this week.
If you are thinking of getting any, now is a brilliant time to do it, the AUD is currently over 90 cents.
It was as easy as :p
A couple of emails to Keith, a phone call to confirm a few details and the diffs turned up 1 week later. No dramas. He even organised 2 new bearings for me.
Cheers

I had a couple of enquiries about the price, so thought I'd just post it up here. I don't think it is a private thing, but if the Mods think otherwise just delete this and PM me or something.
Front and rear were the same price of US$480 each (for my 2001 Defender 130).
If you have a Salisbury diff in the rear, they are a bit more.
Postage was US$119 each diff, and they came by US Postal Service Priority Mail straight to my door, no mucking about with customs or anything.

Hi All,
I understand that Keith is no longer selling lockers! (see reply from him below)
i have not heard back from his contact.
So what is the cheapest way now of buying a truetrack LSD?
cheers, Steve
Hi Steven,
I'm sorry to say I'm pretty much out of the locker biz. I have arranged for my supplier Randy's Ring and Pinion to do their best with the guys in OZ. He should be be able to give you a better price as well if you mention internet pricing.
Shoot him an E Mail
banderson@ringpinion.com
Tell him I sent you.
I would be interested in what he comes up with.
Thanks Keith Untitled Document (http://www.rovertracks.com)

I see these guys don't stock LR gear so interesting to see if they take up Keith's suggestion. Randy's Ring & Pinion. The Differential Experts. Auto Parts & Services. (http://www.ringpinion.com)
There are other Detroit international retail suppliers in US but I don't think any of them come close to Keith's price/service. Shame he is quiting Detriot gear.

Harrops are the Eaton agent aren't they ? Detroit lockers are an Eaton product.

Eaton bought Detroit out but products still marketed under the Detriot name to differentiate to the Eaton stuff. I think Harrops stock only street products.
Before Keith (Rovertracks) was supplying members with a great price and wonderful service I think some members got theirs from these people in the states (Michigan). DTS - Drive Train Specialists (http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com/index.html)

I have that locker in stock. $594.41
I asked about freight but haven't heard back yet.

I have received a quote for a truetrack from Lucky8 for $498US (list price) plus $59US for postage to Aust. seems like a good deal to me.
Drivetrainspecialists have the truetrack locker $50 cheaper at ~$445US, but i havent got a quote for postage yet.
RingandPinion have the truetrack locker for $453US + $240Us for 5 day postage!! i enquired about a cheaper postage option, but they havent got back to me.
(All these quotes are for a rear Detroit truetrack locker for a 98 Disco 1.)

Interesting to see a diff ratio specified for a diff centre without a ring and pinion gear. Is there something I have missed here?

Because if it was 4.7:1 factory rover, it would have differing mounting posi to the 3.54;)

Is the TT 187SL-173A the one for a Salisbury?
It listed under Defender but no mention of year or Front/Rear..

Damn shame that Keith isn't supplying them any more, he has been very helpful pointing me in the right direction.
Haven't heard back from Ring & Pinion regarding freight, asked Lucky8 for a quote and nothing so far.
I have $$$ in my hand ready to spend and no-one wants them!

Ok - response from Lucky8 - $528 + $80 shipping.
That's not bad (remember this is for the locker not the True Trac).
Just waiting on a response from DTS.

I received a quote from Lucky8 for the truetrack $504 posted to Aust!
Lucky8 will match the price of the DTS mob ($444.98) and his postage quote was $59.
the best part about it all was the dollar is doing well at the moment, so the whole this has cost me $566.
Ill see how the postage goes, and then leave good feedback for the Lucky8 mob.
DTS were being very unhelpful with their emails - they wouldnt confirm what LSD was needed for my car, and told me to check with Eaton direct....sounds like they didnt want to be responsible if it was the wrong one.
i still didnt receive a quote for postage from them either.
cheers, Steve

I ordered mine, unfortunately Lucky8 reneged on his quote of $504US posted (he claimed the paypal fees were too great so he would have made a loss on the sale).
I ended up paying $527US posted (still a good price) which works out to ~$595 Aud.
I ordered it on Friday 12th of March; ill let you know when I receive it!

Well i received the truetrac yesteday (29th March) so postage was quite speedy considering i paid $59. it works out to 11 working days for postage from America.
I recommend Lucky8 as a good seller, easy to communicate with and open and honest with the payments.
Now all i have to do is install it :)
