Does anyone know if you can get a heated windscreen for the Defer.:)

I know that you can get it for the earlier disco's and rangies, but haven't heard of them being in the defer's.......

Am planning on getting a new 130 dualcab next year and it would be nice if I can get a heated windscreen when I order.:

Thanks

Hey Gazza,

My SVX has heated windscreen as standard.

It uses a very fine element stuck to the inside of the glass. The element is very fine and not visible unless your looking for it.

Control is via an On/Off switch on the dash, independent of the screen demister / air-con / fan.

So, yes they available and probably standard equipment.

Cheers

The only problem as such is the wiring ,if it wasn't fitted at the factory, there isn't any,it's part of the loom on cars made with it,I tried on our TD5 last year got the screen, switch and timer relay x2 ,but you can not get the feed loom with the block connector, you my be able to use small spade terminals.

I suspect that if it is an available option for the Australian import of the Defender then it will have to be ordered with it and you will have to wait for your Defender to come from the UK. Not necessarily a bad thing because it will also mean you can choose the colour etc that you want much easier.

Of course if it isn't on the Australian options list this may be a problem, even though it is on the SVX.
