I think a lot of business names dont cut it in the "smart" stakes even though they might seem clever.
One I like though is "the purple pig"
Our business name was the results of a compition, The results were "BroadVision Technologies", at the time we were selling computers, signwriting, A bit of mechanical work, Digital catalouging now having slowed on some aspectects and increased on others to include free to air and satalite tv so it seems to suit along with the changes

My plumber in Vancouver was from a big franchise called "Mister Rooter". I still have a fridge magnet somewhere, which is unintentionally hilarious. Over there the Aussie slang doesn't apply. A major clothing label is "Roots".

In New York I saw an office furniture business truck. The name was nothing special, but their slogan was "Cheap Chairs for your Cheap Ass".

Justines Cuts?:D

He says they never even thought of the alternative until I mentioned it. There are eight salons all secured by a mortgage against HIS $3,000,000 bayside house. He lays awake at night sweating blood over this.

He now has a live in lady who is thirty years younger than he is. He is 62. His brother makes jokes about back to school catalogues and school uniforms.

I told him he could have saved a lot of money and stress if he had bought a lifelike doll thirty years ago.

I used to go to one of them in Sutton St Redcliffe, until I found a decent barber who plays good blues on the stereo and offers you a beer as soon as you walk in the door. Good haircuts too.

A friend of mine is a signwriter. Years ago when he was setting up his business he came up with the name "Circumsigns" but since he was living with his rather religious mother at the time, thought better of it.

One that's stuck in my mind since my first ever job working in the finance department of a large construction company:

Bodgit and Scarper

Used as a subcontractor on one of our sites. Boss was unimpressed, he refused to pay thinking it was a joke.
I once worked for a LandRover repairer that would occasionally answer the phone"Bodge it and Scarper''. Also I think it is a registered name for a landscaping business in the UK.
A couple more.
Asian restaurant in Heathmont/Bayswater Melb. 'Sha Tin Restaurant'
Arborist companies.'Tree Amigoes' 'Tree Fellas'
Watts Up? electrical repairs.

Ladies of "negotiable affection" is the best euphemism I've heard for that......:D

There is a big LR/RR dealership a short walk down the PCH on the opposite side to "The Tender Box". South Bay Land Rover.

I usually stay at the Holiday Inn opposite the LR/RR shop. Very convenient. The 232 bus to and from LAX and Long Beach goes past the door, and a short walk to the buses to downtown, Green Line, Artesia Transit Centre, and Blue Line. If you are in the area, go to Hermosa BeachYacht Club. Toothsome young barmaids, with good titties part of the selection criteria. Tell them you were recommended by Aussie Brian and duck.

Well known acoustic engineer in Brisbane - Ron Rumble. (not trying to be clever, that's just his name)

Also Box & Co are building contractors.

Have used a very clever arborist who had the number plate "TPZ12" - the formula for calculating a tree protection zone is 12 x the trunk diameter.
