Lead Acid battery's suffer badly from cold temperature.
Didn't know there were any different measurement standards, apart form the Amp/Hour rating which is all over the place depending on the time frame

I may not have made the question that clear:(. I have a digital automotive battery tester that requires calibration to a particular CCA measuring standard, depending on whereabouts in the world you are using the thing. The device is factory set to the SAE(Society of Automotive engineers) standard used in the USA.
The other options are-
DIN:German National Standard
IEC:International Electrotechnical Commission Standard
EN:European Norm Measurement standard
BCI:Battery Council International Standard.
Obviously having the thing set to the incorrect standard may effect the accuracy of the readout, I have tested this and it does, changing the calibration from one CCA standard to another can result in a pass/fail on the same battery. So, does anyone know which one of the above batteries sold in Australia come under, Google has not been my friend on this one???

thats a hard one steve, as dave said different battery, different standard.
replacement batteries for EU vehicles are DIN..i spose the rest would most probably be SAE?
probably cant get it tested/certified for both:eek:
