I am wanting to get steel rims on the d2 i am currently running 285/75/16 on the standard d2 alloy rims. Not wanting to cut and put flares on yet what is the best rims to go with offset ect ect ???????????? who else out there are running this size tyre and what rims do you have what off set have you gone for without cutting ,and does the offset improve your steering

The offset will definately improve the steering.
Mine has only 235 wide tyres and it just touches the radius arms.
With your width tyres to get the offset needed to have full steering lock will probably dictate the need for flares to keep street legal.
Also depends on any future Tyre choices.
Justin on the GCLRO is a guru with this sort of stuff.
After I do a 50mm body lift and severe guard cut with flares I will be getting the largest offset possible to suit a 34 or 35 by 10.5 wide Tyre, and still stay inside the flares. Having a vehicle that won't go full lock in the bush sux big ones. Having the widest track possible also improves stability.

Rockcrawler do rims for a D2 also, 285 will need an offset so they don't rub though or you'll need flares.
255/85/16 on the other hand will not need an offset;)

i run 265's on dynamic steel rims with standard offset and no rubbing at full lock or flex. only rubbing was on the front standard bumper which was easily fixed with an air hacksaw or better yet a bullbar.

i too have some locked thingys with the ashcrofts and hytuffs all round :) oh and the 4.1's, just need it to be on the road now
