Opening a stuck door.

My RRC has a stuck door, rear passengers side.
It appears the door lock is jammed enough that it won't release and let the handle (inside or outside) operate the latch.

It's done it before, but in the past jiggling the lock usually fixed it. But not this time.
The vehicle spent about three weeks on and off outside a painters shop through the coastal winter. If it stayed there any longer the rods would surely have rusted through and the door fallen open.

Does anyone have any tips, tricks or suggestions? I have two weeks before a warrant of fitness is due. Stuck doors are frowned upon.

just check its not something jammed in the door,i had a seat belt jamming the door shut

I recently had a problem with my passenger rear on my 92 RRC, where the door would not open from the outside but was OK from the inside.

On mine it was fixed by adjusting the rod to the outer handle.

You may find that the childproof lever is not fully "off" and this is affecting the inner handle, as all of the rods converge on a pivot, which the childproof lock inhibits the movement of.

If you can reach in with say a spatula, try pushing the childproof lock lever as far "off " as possible and then opening from inside. If its not that I am buggered if I know.

I'll have a fish with a bike spoke and see if I can catch the kiddy lock lever. I don't think that's the cause but it's well worth a try.

I've got the cover off the other rear door to try and get some ideas. Unfortunately the window doesn't work on that back left door either so access isn't good. Can't get the door card off with it shut, can't get the window seal up much either.

I may be able to unbolt the hinges and get the door card off then, but that's risking panels so will be a last resort.
