View Full Version : 1993 Range Rover Classic & EASUnlock Tool & Need some help!

Hello

I am searching for people who have had success using the EASunlock tool with a range rover classic. The wiring diagram on the rswsolutions website shows that all NPN 2N3904 transistor and a 15Kohm resister is needed in the circuit. After making up the cable and trying the "Initialise" the application all I get is FF and 01 readings in the "Tx" column and no readings in the "Rx" column.

Fiddling with the single and 2 byte & idle delay gives no joy either.

Please help as my back is hurting from the ride!

Persist. I used the premade (purchased) lead and got good results. On several occasions, it took a while and a few attempts for the program to initialize.

I contacted Son of Bundalene and installed a parallel manual inflation system while I was investigating the EAS control on my project car. Well worth while.

The other thing I found was that the ECU had grown some gremlins and would not initialize and the system could not be calibrated. Substitution for another ECU solved the problem.

I second the kit from ANDY - excellent and gets you out of trouble while you play with the electronics and gives you piece of mind for the future!

Air suspension override switch? Hmmm didn't check that one. Its not my car so I am just trying to lend a hand. We made a cable up, not wanting to fork out dollars for something that wasn't going to work well.

I will check for this switch. Where would that be on a 1993 Rangie?

Where did you source your premade lead from? It already has fitted the tyre valves to put air into the system if the onboard system goes heywire.

I wondered if there were just problem in general with the ECU's. We have tried the lead on two EAS classic rangies with no success. This premade lead might be the answer.

its under the drivers seat behind the outboard trim panel. Its the same style of switch as the rear window lock out. It shut power off to the ecu to prevent it from self leveling

The patching lead is available from the same mob that gives you the EAS Unlock software. Even though I was capable, for $29 it was easier (slack me!) to have someone else build it and warrant it.

To clarify, I had to boot the software a few times to get the ECU to scroll the info to isolate the fault areas. If the laptop screen does not scroll, the ECU is not being accessed, and you should be drinking beer, not wasting time and energy swearing at it! Once the faults are isolated, they can be cleared. If they persist, run the program again and if they still fail to clear, get access to another ECU and try it.

I found the program works very well.

Andrew E's override equipment is mechanical, and has nothing to do with the electronics of the EAS.
