Hi Guys
Loving my Td5 manual that I bought 3 weeks ago .... however, occasionally the oil light will flash once on the dashboard. It's happened twice in about 3 weeks.
Should I be concerned?????
I've got Peter Davis coming in three weeks to do the oil pump bolt and injector harness .... maybe he could also tell me something.
Thanks
Craig

Have you checked the dip stick, the oil light is not something I've had come on and I've had no oil showing on the dipstick (checked by Pete Davis and he rolled his eyes at me:Rolling:)
I have a Nanocom if you want to check for faults before Pete looks at it, might give Pete a better idea what could be wrong, I'm assuming your in southern Sydney, I'm in the Burgh.

Hopefully its just that the wires to the pressure switch have had their insulation melted and are shorting together. The switch is behind the turbo and oil filter and the wires come from behind the head.

Yes forgot about that, also you will find an extra wire that is not attached to anything, that's normal.

I had the same problem, very sort flashes - less than a second - so it couldn't be the (real) oil pressure, found out that it was a cut wire(propably when previous owner replaced the clutch).
When i got the plug out,i saw 2 wires, but i found only 1 wire (white i thing),behind the engine, confused at once, after readind many posts,i connected the 2 white halfs and everything ok(i had previously tried a ground connection for the second wire from the plug)
The plug is a b*tch to grab with your hand..
Correction .. you 've got the brake servo on the other side,so plenty of room there!!
That's why i can't fit a second battery..

Hi Craig
does it work properly??? ie when ign is on before cranking???
Ive never had an oil light in my D2 TD5.It does flicker occasionally when its been splashed thru a puddle.
I have replaced the sender 3 times(2 failed, leaking) and checked the wiring the best I can.
I wonder if the oil pressure wire joins the loom with the crank signal detector as I constantly get a "Noisy Crank Signal" fault logged on the ECU despite replacing the sender twice.
New clutch required soon so I will get the wiring looked at then.
