rear axle on D1 tdi

My mate broke his rear axle on his Disco tdi the other day whilst we were playing at Dixons Long Point.:o;):p
He was just telling me that its split and he cant get it out so he can get the diff exchanged(buggered that as well):bangin::wallbash:
Any ideas on how to get it out...:soapbox:

Can he get the other side out and get something in from that side to punch it out??. If it won't move then it is prob twisted and i can't help there but someone will know. Cheers Brett

I suggested to him about the other side,but he said its connected to the pinion and he didnt want to pull that out.

Just heard from my mate...

After 2 and a bit hrs,he managed to get the broken piece out and then he put in the bought 1.:ehigh5:

He went for a quick drive and it seems to be OK..:D
He'll check for leaks in the morning..
