Discovery 2 Front prop shaft phase

Hi All!

Just wondering what the phase should be on the front prop spline of a disco 2? A have read it should be out by two splines - is this the front "trailing" the rear (transfer case) end (when driving fwd) or vis versa?

No, not at all. It stays in phase - not that it should really matter much with the front and rear shaft design. The top one in the pic is how the front should be.
