Hi guys
im a newbie to this forum, sorry if it is long winded just wanting to pick some brains about some mods to a rangie i just purchased from qld. It is a '77 and has qld rego til mid dec
As its coming back to nsw i need to get the mods certified and a blue slip, the problem is;
-body lift
-eastern wheels works 15x8 (guessing about 2-3 inches offset)
-33 muddies (flush with flares at top)
-recaros in front
-p76 no (emission gear)
im off to kevin at lakes edge engineering on thurs, but
does anyone have any experience with this process?
thanks in advance
Tony

Depends on the engineer really. 33's and a small lift should scrape in. Being a 77 the old 4.4 should comply for emissions.
The engineer may chose to do a lane change test and brake test with the front circuit out if he is brave enough:eek:
Some are rather concerned about the steering set up with neg offset rims. Usually -25 offset and 8" will make it. (Tie rod and drag link Should be upgraded anyway )

Hi Blu,
Can't comment on the wheels and tyres, but the seats / belts could be an issue.
In 77 the belts came out of the top of the seats which is why the original bases and folding seats are massively strong.
I'm assuming there is now a retractable arrangement attached to the b-pillar which may or may not have been installed with enough reinforcement.
I'd say the easiest way forward is to let the engineers take a look at the whole thing and find any defects that you can then correct, rather than take a scatter gun approach trying to fix things that may not be an issue. Seats included.
cheers, DL

Sounds like you purchased the Blue rangie from Matt at the Gold Coast that was on e-bay, that's a nice looking Rangie.
