Isn't it just typical when your about to trade out of a vehicle something major craps its self:mad:
Just about to trade up my old MJ Triton over the next few weeks. Depending what I purchase next the trade will be 4 to 6k so not real keen on putting 2.5k (Quote for a reco + fitting)into it now:( Looks like I may have to pull it out here and try to stick a band aid on it, ie only replace the knacked bearing and stick it back together. Take me at least two days to do it here.
Now looking for a secondhand box but are scarce.

Got the new bearings yesterday so got into it today. Just got to get the stupid C clip back onto the main shaft now and all is good.
The original input bearing was sealed:confused: No wonder they starve for oil. Got me buggered how it lasted this long actually.
The spigot was so shot I had to use the oxy to get the remains of it out:eek:
My wife did mention a wile back it was hard to get into gear and has since developed a clutch shudder. Then the noise:eek: It gave plenty of warning.

Ha... Just found an old input shaft out of my old 82 model L200. Same size:D Makes it easy now.
Any one wanna give me a hand to shove the box back in:angel: Should only take three beers to do it:D
I'm going to give it a go now on my own but will be awkward as don't have a tranny lifter here.:(

Ended up making a very crude transmission lifter that made it very easy for me to shove it back in:)

Now I need to get rid of this thing before something else has a hissy fit:angel:

Yep.
I am pulling it to bits when I get the time. I was talking to my boss a few days ago at work, we have all been averaging 26 / 27 days working per month for the last 6 months. Add a 4.5 hour drive on to each end of my work stints (Horsham to Adelaide) and I haven't been spending much time at home in the shed!
The good news is that all I have to do is unbolt mounts and bellhousing bolts and it will come out.
