Looking for a bit of advice on the tightness of the rear wheel bearing nuts. I do not have a dial gauge to check for 4 to 6 thou end float called for in the manual.
I tightened them till they were just slightly firm and them back them off about a fifth of a turn. Went for drive and they where slightly warmer than I would expect.
Any one got any tips?

I think you will find the bearings are warm because of drag from your new brakes.
Good to here you are back on the road again.
I preload the bearings a bit leaving a slight load on the bearing.

do them as per normal rover bearings
tighten them till they drag
turn the wheel 3 times
back the inner nut off half a turn
tighten the inner nut till it makes contact
tighten the outer nut till its tight
spin the wheel, if it drags loosen the outer nut
spin the wheel, if it doesnt drag and the outer nut is still tight lock the tabs
if its still tight investigate the reason. (usually it turns out that your definition of makes contact is too tight)
