FL 2005 TD4 - red light on tachomter and audible chime

Freelander Folks

Our 05 TD4 Freelander has started with an audible chime / warning sound and at the same time the single round LED bottom centre of the tachometer guage is illuminated.

This is when you first go to start the car or when you pull up and are about to turn it off, not usually when driving along.

What does this represent ? Any ideas ?

Isn't that the immobilizer led? The system senses when the battery is getting low in the remote fob so may this is what it is telling you? The handbook will have the answers. My earlier Freelander led flashes rapidly when the fob battery gets low.

You might also want to check the internal battery (unlikely, but possible).
