1/4 steering clonk!!!

Hi guys,
i just changed my steering shaft bulkhead to steering box, i have always had it sine i have owned it but i have clonk 1/4 way through a turn in the steering !!
Any ideas ????

any slack in the str box Andy?

it was overhauled should it be stiff the whole way when the ignition is off ??
More to the last bit i posted seems to be the dash end not the box end !!!
It's annoying but i am guessing something may well be worn ...better hurry up the bulkhead i reckon and have a look then
