After a medical and questionare Dr says according to the definition of "drinking more than 3 standard drinks in a sitting" I am a binge drinker. WTF......

3x middies (do you stop there?)

I'm a shiftworker on a zero limit and go on regular occasions a month or two without a single alcoholic beverage, on my multiple days off.... The world is my oyster, but I do not overdo it. The footage of Baz and myself I had drank too much and it was actually the first time I have "blown chunks" since I was 18. I say the Pink donuts were spiked.

Apparently if I drink on a daily basis I am no longer classified as a binge drinker.

Oh I'm also too fat.

Going by your original post and if the definition these days of binge drinking is more than three drinks in a sitting then I would say you are too.

As I thought binge anything was doing too much of it at once. So having one drink or lolly or pizza or whatever a day is not binging even though it might equate to having more of it in the long run.

Although I wouldn't think having three drinks is binge drinking even though my yearly intake of alcohol would be less than 10 drinks. Half of them would be had at new years and the other half spread out over the year. I must be a binge drinker too then :)

I find the new Australian/AMA definition of binge drinking somewhat severe, and more extreme than other countries.

2 people can easily get through 1/2 bottle of wine each with a nice meal and still be <<0.05 - yet the average bottle of red is 8 standard drinks - so by the definition they would be binge drinking - even though they would be legally sober the whole time.

err, hick, err um, pass me another beer luv [gonna get dead if she finds me calling her luv]
ahh, where's that red,
oh , so what if it took me an hour and a half to type this without any spelling mistakes, the wine doesn't affect me too much, but i know that the car is staying in the garage, until morning.
what were we talking about?

wheres india,

ask ya doc how much he drinks, bet he doesn't touch it:angel:.
i guess they have to have a line to draw, it could be more directed to the tea totallers, not those that can handle it! Basically covering someones arse when it comes to too much is too much:(
BTW, i'm on beer number 5!

By all definitions, I'd binge drink occasionally and probably have more than 2 or 3 each night sometimes. Although I also often go for log periods without a drink.
I'm also undertall at the moment, but doing something about it.
Ridiculous 'definitions' of binge drinking or regular consumption, don't do anything to help people act or be aware of problems, they do the opposite.

Moderation and logic is the key.
None of which will be present at a Cricket Club reunion I'm attending Saturday night. I plan to be wheelbarrowed out the door, and it was that well planned that a 'breakfast' at 0800 the next morning is part of the function.:beer::twobeers::banana:

Well it took me three beers to pluck a gearbox out late this arvo with over 40deg heat. Does this pass as binge drinking in one sitting? To many variables here right.;)
If you feel off colour the next day you may have over done it would be my concern.

Hi,
I love a coldie if i've been working and it's hot, but couldn't care less for it other wise.
I bought a few bottles back from the Bootleg Brewery in WA 5 years ago, only drank the last one about a year ago.
Haven't done much work, and it hasn't been all that hot I guess.
cheers

One thing you notice after you are married is that you no longer have to count your drinks yourself.

The only time I drink too much is when I find that there is an insufficient amount of Bundy to allow me to have another.

BTW having been associated with some alcoholics over the years I reckon that drinking more than 3 drinks in a session over the weekend is less harmful than having 2 every night. But that dosent have a catchy tag like "binging"

We went to Dinner last Friday night, byo Italian joint next door to a bottleo in Bulimba:D
Out of 8 of us, there was only one not drinking, and she was on the water.
I gave her the usual jokes, don't drink that stuff, it'll kill you...fish **** in that stuff you know etc, etc,:p
About 10 mins after dinner, she gets violent pains in the stomach, and eventually goes to hospital.
They said it was gall stones - but I reckon it's water - and I'm not taking any chances.

So be safe - here's my public health warning.

When you go out for dinner - drink plonk, booze or whatever, it's much safer;)

Hundreds of years ago, the only safe drink in many areas was beer (probably ale?) - the rivers and streams were so polluted.

I have a couple of reds every night - unless I'm working evening shift or midnight shift.

Late edit: Umm, I forgot about the couple I have after getting home from an arvo shift. :)
