Hi Guys. Looking at some defenders that are for sale.
What is a reasonable price range for a 2003-2005 90. Either Redbook is very low or the dealers are dreaming. My max is $30000.
There is this on for sale in Perth
Used Car for sale | LAND ROVER, DEFENDER 90 EXTREME www.drive.com.au (http://www.drive.com.au/used-cars/LAND+ROVER/DEFENDER/Perth/detail.aspx?id=13496048&lid=13496048&pg=1&pp=13&d=0&SG=2098261678&pt=1)

Would i be wasting my time with this one and others or can they go for below 30000.
Thanks

I purchased a 2004 Defender 90 in Melbourne for $37,000.00 on road (2007) from a dealer. This was approx. $5,000.00 - $7000.00 above private sales at the time. I have no regrets the vehicle is worth every cent. If you can wait (I couldn't) some bargains do come up privately but unless it is in your state it is hard to appraise it's condition. The Red Book value is extremely misleading as it does not seem to calculate the rarity of a vehicle or the demand for the vehicle. If you find one at the Red Book price it is probably a misprint. The plus side is that if you look after your 90 it does seem to hold it's value. Also shop around for Insurance as some companies base the agreed value on the Red Book value.
Don't know if this helps but if you can bargain and pretend to have a passing interest (Impossible) in the 90 maybe the dealer will cut the cost.

Good Hunting
