Hi everyone, I've just found this website and don't really know much about using it! I am interested in buying a new Discovery 4 but have never had anything to do with Landrovers or their dealerships. Can anyone tell me if the after sales service is reliable and as there are only limited dealers, are there any problems with servicing? I would really appreciate some advice. Oh and are the cars reliable?:confused: Thanks.

There are enough dealers in major cities and regional centres as to be acceptable, but you will find there are les than say Toyota in country and remote areas.

Dealers as with all makes are variable, but overall seem ok, Land Rover Australia is another matter although I'm told they have improved a bit of late.

I am on my third Discovery, the first 2 were appalling in terms of their reliability (D1 and D2) So I waited until a few months ago, right at the end of the model to buy a D3 as the reports have been much better for them, ad they seem to have ironed out any early bugs, and so far in the 3 months that I have had it, it has only been recalled once;)

but seriously so far I am very happy with it and others seem to be very happy with the reliability of theirs.

As for the D4, only time will tell, it depends really on how much they have really changed it as to whether there are likely to be new model teething problems.

I am very happy with my D3 (3 years old now), actually I love it. only a few little issues like a window switch needing re connection. Nothing a quick visit to the dealer couldn't fix. As far as after market service there are plenty of non dealer, authorized Land Rover Servicers around, and I am sure some of the Melbourne guys can point you in the right direction.

It all right you can get service now in darwin.
