Just a quick question Can I charge my deep cycle battery with the solar panels(2x60w) and run my engle fridge at the same time, me no electical knowledge at all:confused:

2 x 60w no problems engel should use about 3-4 amps (50 ish watts) the rest can charge your battery:D

Yes, but best to wire the panels to the battery (with a regulator if you have one) and then run your Engel from the battery.

The battery will stabilise the voltage from the panels.

Also make sure your panels or your regulator has a blocking diode or current will leak back to your panels when they are not charging (no light).

Cheers,
Paul.

easy peasy.......120W should maintain/run an engle

pretty sure the latest regulator don't need a blocking diode.....could be wrong

I assume 60W is the peak output of each panel???

Under optimal conditions, you will only get about 20-40% of the peak output from the panel - averaged over a day.

So if your engel only draws 2-4A averaged over a day (2-4Ah more correctly), then you should be OK.
