The following chassis number is from a LWB ute on evilbay listed in the Marletplace alerts. Can anyone shed any light on it as it dosent seem to resemble any chassis number I can find on the net (and I've learned quite a lot about series 1s whilst looking.)
Number: N914791P

It is a substitute allocated number if at re-registration (in country towns pror to the proliferation on Motor Registrys) the local police traffic officer could not find the original chassis/body number so N (New South Wales) xxxxxx P (Police).
I understand that it was also used sometimes on replacement/repaired chassis. They had a similar system for firearms registration numbers where there was none or an unacceptable number.
Also operated in some other states.
