Hi, can anyone help.
i was told recently by a former defender owner with 300tdi that there is a vacuum holding mechanism that is placed inline on the vacuum hose from the turbo to the injector pump. he told me that it is available from coventry parts here in WA but i forgot what it is called, it is a small electric device that when you push a button on in the cab- it holds the vacuum so the diaphram stays open allowing more fuel - supposedly it opens at around 2000 revs for a short period then closes again.
So this device keeps it open while you get up that sandy hill with more power.
Is this common knowledge , does it work and where do you get it?
