Soon after buying my D3 I had some brake probs. Randomley at first I would not have any, only machanical , this does give you a scare when you allready have left the brake distance. After a short while I was able to make itdo it by pressing the brake and releasing it slightly then reaplying , it would then be as hard as. The fix is a new pipe from the vacum pump to the booster. You will also have to replace the booster as mine had 1 ltr of oil in it. Surprising I could stop at all.

Forgot to say that this brake prob is a recall by LR only D3,s and RR,s from November 05 to I think not that long ago. So if you have one of the above, diesel only, good idea to check, so you dont loose yours. I was 2 months out of the recall but still got it fixed on warranty, the yard can try to get there money out of LR nowhttps://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2013/09/470.jpg

I was 2 months out of the recall but still got it fixed on warranty, The recall applies whether it's under warranty or not.

All owners should have received a letter from LR regarding this issue.

If you're not the original owner of your D3 or Sport & haven't received a letter, send me a PM & I can check if your LR needs this done.

Not all are covered by the recall, they should be.
There are plenty of vehicles outside the VIN numbers for ther recall that are having brake failures.

There are plenty of vehicles outside the VIN numbers for ther recall that are having brake failures.I don't know the ins & outs of why some are & some aren't in the recall.
I do know though that any problems outside the warranty period are being covered by LR.

My dealer claimed though Alianz extended saying LR wouldn't pay.
I know what to look for what about those who don't until they have a failure?

.........diesel only..........

So just to confirm, this affects only the TDV6? Is the braking system different to the V6 and V8?

Diesels dont create enough vacuum at idle so they have a vacuum pump instead of taking it off the air inlet.

Local indie just had oil in one that has had the recall done.:o
