yes it sounds like the Head gaskets are starting to leak.
We have just done a customers 04 d2 v8. it was leaking from both heads, and boy does that coolant make a mess.
In regards to the sensor it may fix itself once it is dry from no more coolant leaking onto it.
From we have been told it is common for the gaskets to sart leaking but once replaced no probs at all. out of curiouity are they still the original gaskets.

My D2 V8 was leaking like a sieve from the head gaskets when it went in for a major service. The folks that did the service stuck in some special gunk (Silver Seal?) as a "temporary measure". And six months on it hasn't used another drop. They claim they've had vehicles happily running around years after having this stuff bodged in.
I'm sure it's a pretty dodgy fix, but maybe worth a try?
