G'day guys,
I'm after a P38a fuse box - a completely unserviceable one will be fine. I just need some bits from one. My son in law is re-soldering one for me and tells me that some of the contacts have overheated and really should be replaced. So I need the wreck of a fuse box. I have a suspicion that a D2 fusebox would have similar fittings. So if someone has one for not too much please contact me. You can PM me or ring 0433 122 798.
As a matter of interest, he reckons the problem with these fuse boxes is the use of lead free solder. He says the engineering is fine, but it is the solder that breaks down with use. He is removing all the lead free solder and replacing it with normal solder. He reckons it may well solve a number of problems when it is all fixed.
This is a replacement box for mine. I bought it from Andy Ebe for this specific purpose - to rebuild it and replace mine, which we'll then rebuild and keep as a spare. I'm interested to see how it works out and what improvements we'll see when I install it.
