Now before I get a torrent of responses saying 'this has already been covered in other threads' (which is what has happened to me in the past), I will say sorry I haven't searched properly and I hope this hasn't been addressed.
Anyway, with the new safety standards coming out in 2010, I have heard that the Defender won't meet regulations, and nobody is sure what Land Rover will do. I even read that Land Rover may not bother bringing Defenders to Australia as it isn't worth their hassle.
A LR dealer I spoke to thought they would get a reprieve until 2012, and that the Defender would go on to a Disco based Chassis and get airbags.
Seems a bit of a pity. But I guess that's progress.
Anyone heard any such talk of what is in store for the Defender?
