Hi all

I'm looking to replace the coils and shocks on the 2000 Td5 and was looking for advice on where to go in Sydney.

I'm not looking at a lift .... just a standard upgrade to take out the bounce and body-roll whilst trying to keep the cost down. I'd probably do the rear first, (as I noticed it leaning to one side :() then come back at a later date for the front. I am assuming that I need to replace both coils and shocks.

Thought about Pedders.... has anyone used them?
Got a quote from Suspension Stuff (Dobinsons Coils and Sus Stuff shocks)
I can get a set of HD Bilsteins from Truckspring in the US for $550, although I'm not sure I need heavy duty shocks .... and then coils from ????

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Craig

having now done 4 suspension stuff installs...

Go with suspension stuff, Everyone that I've done the work for has been impressed. Ive met the guy doing the selling and hes genuinely interested in his job.

Just be wary of the bushes that come with the shockies, Im not super impressed with them in terms of longevity particulalry if you were going to be operating on corigations for extended runs but thats simply a case of buying a LR bush kit for the shockies.

The bush kit provided doesnt have the middle metal plates to locate the bushes into the axle or the spring towers just a little ridge on the bush itself, after a while these have a tendancy to shear off and you wind up with the shocky pins "floating"

To keep the costs down try just rear shocks first - with quality controlling shocks. Thats where most of the bounce will be coming from. You'll be able to do the shocks yourself also, they are just 2 bolts (17mm I think) per side.

Ring Ultimate suspension at Ingleburn and have a chat with them, they are reasonabley priced and very helpful and will custom make a shock for you, they use Lovell springs from memory.

If your in the Land Rover club you get a 10% discount too.

Don't use Pedders:no2:
