Indeed :eek:
A man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and dangerous conduct with a weapon, discharging a weapon in a public place and possession of an unregistered firearm.
What happened to the old attempted murder charge or is that only an american crime show charge?

Attempted murder is a hard one to prove, depends on what he was using also, sounds like an air rifle or a .22lr at most.
The silly season is definitely that. Being an ambo it is recognised by the noticeable increase in highway accidents and hangings.
Unfortunately suicides ruin the Christmas of many people.
On a brighter note though at least I have Christmas off this year but have to work boxing day and because boxing day is a Saturday I wont get paid public holiday rates for it but those that work Monday will. Gotta love it.

Doesn't say what the firearm was. Maybe it was low powered and at sufficient range where it wasn't considered lethal, and therefore no way they could make an attempted murder charge stick.

I heard it was only pellets from a shottie, so attempted murder would be hard to prove. Hopefully the beak will give this nutter the high end of the sentence and a long non-parole period.

I'll agree with that.
We see a sharp rise at work, in the attempted suicides at Christmas. Luckily I will not be at work at Christmas because I am NOT a psych nurse and do not understand psych problems at all :(
I'd be happier if they didn't come to us but unfortunately, many of the drug OD's are of drugs that have cardiac effects, hence they lob on our doorstep :(
I feel for the little kids tho...they were probably just playing and this person couldn't stand the noise or something...no tolerance some people
But you're a skuller?:confused::p
