You wont believe it, it's finally rained in Rockhampton!! Must have gotten quite a bit during the night as the old Landrover rain gauge was full.

Everytime it rained I use to open every door of my old Disco and let the water drain from all the doors, pain in the butt but no great drama as the inside was dry.

The 2000 Defender that I recently bought luckily came with some great rubber floor mats in the front which do a great job of storing the rain water.

Can anyone tell me where the likely ingress point for the water would be?
It appears to be somewhere behind or just under the dash area.

Ventilator seals & windscreen frame bracket gaskets are god starting points.

Let's not being her up in this thread too we will never hear the end of it!!! :D

But yes - vent seals, around the hinges, between the firewall and windscreen... rear bonnet seal is also a possibility.

Well, it's her fault anyway. She sends that wet stuff down, doesn't she? :)

Now I'll have to go into THAT thread & see how he became a she ;).

Also top of the A-pillers if the first two Scouse mentioned are OK and make sure the door seal is seated well along the top and firewall section.

Don't worry though it will drain out as easily as it drains in. My Tdi had 2" in it on Tuesday - Once again I left the bloody vents open and we got several inches of rain:(

I would go look at the bulkhead corners under the heater box and on the other side by the master cylinder the windscreen clamps inside the cab for rot
