Hi LandyAndy,
i dont have a gas one but just finished making my wood oven it was a kit so easy to do, and the pizzas are great. During the week i did a roast chook it was good. i plan on doing the turkey in it this year. i have seen the gas ones. i recon that if you had one of them each time you did a pizza you would wonder if the wood one would be better. but if thats all you want to spend at the moment well id rather have some sort of pizza oven than not

mate has a gas one and loves the thing. raves about it all the time.

i would love a wood fired one for the country estate but will be sticking with a camp oven for now :p

Come on Andy, you have plenty of space and plenty of wood - all you need is to score some bricks and mortar. I am sure your son needs another project to keep him occupied ;)

got a pizza stone from B'sGalore to go inside the hooded gas barbeque....(can add a few wood chips for the "smoky" effect if required)...works a treat... and I'm not in danger of burning the house down!

It was and still is a plan to build a wood-fired oven. But not till we get an outdoor living area off the back of the house.
We dont actualy have a "real" oven in the house, just a microwave/convetion oven(microwave buggered) and a microwave. The pizza oven is a bit of a stopgap till later, will get used for roasts etc.
Thanks
Andrew
